Selsdon Education Partnership (SEP)

The Quest Academy is now part of a partnership with Gilbert Scott Primary, Forestdale Primary, Red Gates Special School, Courtwood Primary, John Ruskin College and Woodlands Children’s Centre.

The headteachers and Chairs of Governors of these establishments have been exploring and developing ways to work together for the benefit of all the pupils, parents and staff in each institution. We all have our own strengths in what we can offer to the partnership and we cover a wide age group, from birth to adulthood.

Our vision is to:

  1. Increase the opportunities and potential provided by each establishment
  2. Enhance pupil learning

To give you a flavour of how this works, we have already achieved the following:

  • Staff have met in a range of groups to share ideas, equipment and best practice
  • Governors and staff have shared training
  • Specialist teachers have taught pupils across the partnership
  • Skilled counsellors have supported parents across the partnership

We have more plans for the future, such as:

  • Olympics events for year groups
  • Joint School Council meetings
  • Joint school/ college projects

Working together has many benefits, such as sharing specific staff skills. It can also cut costs, such as buying in specific training or specialist providers.

The local authority recognises our great work and is using us as a successful partnership model; we are in the directory of good and outstanding practice in Croydon.

We look forward to an exciting future together.
