The Halo Code

The Quest Academy is proud to be a Halo Code school. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every member of our community feels respected, valued and able to be themselves. We recognise that Afro-textured hair is an important part of many students’ and staff members’ racial, ethnic, cultural and religious identities and may require specific styling to maintain its health and wellbeing. We welcome Afro-textured hair worn in a wide range of styles, including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, protective styles, hair straightened using heat or chemical treatments, weaves, wigs, headscarves and wraps.

Our Uniform and Appearance Policy is applied fairly and consistently while recognising and celebrating diversity. We are committed to ensuring that no student is disadvantaged or treated less favourably because of their hair texture or hairstyle. At The Quest Academy, we believe that every student should be judged by their character, conduct and contribution to our community – not by their hairstyle. Our commitment to the Halo Code reflects our values of equality, inclusion and respect for all.
