Educational visits are an important part of life at The Quest Academy. They enrich learning, build confidence and give students the opportunity to experience the world beyond the classroom.

Students take part in a wide range of visits each year to support their learning across the curriculum. These include trips to Rochester Castle, Tower Bridge, the British Museum and the Museum of London, where students are able to deepen their understanding through real-world experiences.

Students also visit leading cultural and educational institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Science Museum, alongside opportunities for fieldwork and outdoor learning at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Creative Arts is further enriched through regular theatre visits, including productions such as Cinderella, enabling students to experience live performance and develop their appreciation of the arts.

Recent visits have included Sky Studios, the Houses of Parliament, UCL and Goldsmiths, alongside a range of subject-specific and enrichment experiences that broaden students’ understanding of future pathways.

Careers education is enhanced through a range of meaningful encounters with employers and organisations. Students attend careers events at the Science Museum and benefit from visits into school from organisations such as the Bank of England and the Zoological Society of London, who deliver sessions on careers in finance, economics, conservation and animal science. These are complemented by alumni talks, employer engagement and university visits, including a dedicated Year 12 university trip. These experiences support our Careers Programme and the Gatsby Benchmarks by ensuring students have meaningful encounters with employers and further education providers.

Students also have access to international opportunities, including a recent History trip to Berlin, which supported their understanding of key historical events while developing independence and a broader global perspective.

All students take part in educational visits throughout their time at the academy, with opportunities planned progressively from Year 7 through to Sixth Form. We are committed to ensuring all students can participate, with financial support available where needed. All visits are carefully planned and risk assessed in line with national guidance, ensuring students are safe while benefiting from rich and meaningful experiences.

These experiences are closely linked to our wider personal development curriculum and our Careers Programme, supporting students to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for their future pathways.
