Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly-funded schools in England to raise the attainment and achievement of disadvantaged pupils, and close the gap between them and their peers. It is the school’s responsibility to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual students in their care.

Our aim is to ensure that all Pupil Premium students are fully supported to achieve highly and to benefit from a rich, well-rounded education in line with their peers. We are committed to removing barriers to success, regardless of background or individual challenges. Our duty of care is realised through consistently high-quality teaching and learning across all subjects, alongside targeted support. This includes access to appropriate resources, equipment, educational visits and extracurricular opportunities, as well as tailored pastoral and academic guidance to ensure every student can thrive.

The school receives funding for students who fall into the following categories:

  • Students registered as eligible for free school meals, or eligible at any point in the past six years
  • Students who are registered as a service child
  • Looked after children (LAC), or students who have been adopted from care
