Year 7 British Museum Trip
The Year 7s went on their first Academy Day trip to the British museum. It was an exciting chance to see real historical artifacts and learn more about how civilisation has changed.
We explored some amazing sections that really brought history to life. We started with the British Empire, learning how Britain’s influence spread around the world and changed trade and culture. In the Roman Empire section, we saw incredible artifacts like coins, statues, and mosaics that showed how advanced Roman life was. The Egyptian section was one of our favourites — we were fascinated by the mummies, hieroglyphs, and statues. Lastly, in the Greek section, we saw beautiful pottery and sculptures that told stories from ancient myths.
The trip linked really well to our cultural curriculum, helping us understand how different civilizations have shaped the world we live in today. Seeing the real objects up close made history feel much more real and helped us appreciate the connections between ancient and modern cultures.
