Our Year 13 students took an important step forward in their university and apprenticeship journeys during last term’s Academy Day, which focused on writing exceptional personal statements for UCAS applications.

The day consisted of 3 insightful UCAS workshops led by our Sixth Form team, offering expert guidance on how to craft compelling and authentic answers to the three questions which make up the personal statement. Students explored how to showcase their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and aspirations in a way that truly reflects their individuality and ambition.

Through practical exercises and one-to-one support, students refined their drafts and learned how to structure their writing effectively. The workshop also encouraged self-reflection, helping students to recognise the unique qualities and experiences that will make them stand out to universities and employers alike.

The atmosphere throughout the day was focused and purposeful, with students demonstrating real commitment to producing high-quality work that captures their potential.

A huge thank you to the Sixth Form staff and tutors for their expert support and encouragement, and to our Year 13 students for their hard work and determination as they prepare for the next exciting chapter in their education.
