Sophie Hollis Completes London Marathon for Meningitis Research
In an inspiring display of determination and compassion, Sophie Hollis, an Achievement Coordinator at The Quest Academy who left last Autumn, crossed the finish line of the London Marathon yesterday, clocking in at an impressive 3 hours, 56 minutes, and 39 seconds.
Sophie’s sister, Kate, tragically succumbed to Meningococcal Septicaemia at the tender age of 6 and a half. Fuelled by her sister’s memory, Sophie dedicated her run to raise funds for the Meningitis Research Foundation.
On her JustGiving page, Sophie shared sobering statistics about meningitis, highlighting the urgent need for continued research and prevention efforts. The funds raised by Sophie’s marathon endeavour will contribute to the Meningitis Research Foundation’s vital objectives: eliminating meningitis epidemics, reducing cases and deaths from vaccine-preventable strains, and improving the quality of life for those affected by the disease.
