Quest Students Head to Top Universities
Students at The Quest Academy have secured places at the UK’s top universities including Oxford, King’s College, UCL, Nottingham and many more.
Quest’s top achiever, Jade Deguin, secured a place to read English at Oxford University having achieved A*AC in English Literature, Politics and Psychology. Jade said, “I love my teachers so much! They really helped me massively. I’ve had amazing moral support both in and out of class. They kept me sane throughout the process! I never imagined when I started here in Year 8 that I’d be going to Oxford. My advice to younger students would be to trust in the expertise of your teachers. They’ve done it for many years, so just trust them!”
Matthew Harvey will be studying Geography at King’s College having achieved AAB in Business, Maths, Geography. He said, “I’m feeling pretty good right now! It turned out pretty well. I’ve had a lot of support here. The teachers supported me not just with the subjects but with my personal statement and university applications too. I got advice, 1-2-1 sessions sometimes, help with exam technique; all of that. Everyone’s been really friendly. It’s been such an enjoyable experience here.”
Thomas Beecham, Head of School, says, “The Quest Year 13 cohort have worked incredibly hard to achieve a fantastic set of results. Not only are these a wonderful set of outcomes in themselves, but they also open up a wide range of opportunities for our students to pursue. These outcomes are the result of incredibly hard work by our students and fantastic support, encouragement and expert teaching from the Q6 team. Our Sixth Form continues to provide an excellent provision for our young people, and the outcomes achieved reflect this, with ever increasing numbers of students achieving the top grades.”
We also celebrate the successes of students taking other pathways. Josh Norris achieved ACC and is through to the final round of an apprenticeship with the Police. After the two-year apprenticeship, he plans to sit the exams to become a detective. Josh says, “It’s been a lovely experience here. I made a lot of lifelong friends here, especially in sixth form. The teachers have been brilliant. They’ve all been so kind to me and gone out of their way to help me.”
Aidan Madassery got two Distinctions at BTEC and is currently deciding whether to go down a Business apprenticeship route or go to university to read Accountancy & Finance. He says, “My advice to other students would be “lock it in!” Be serious about it. Don’t mess around too much. Use your time efficiently. Maybe at the start I was messing about a bit but I got it together towards the end and it paid off with good grades I’m proud of.”
Jayden Bakerey-Adams also got two Distinctions at BTEC and has secured a place to study Software Engineering at Roehampton University. He says, “I stayed here for Quest6 knowing a lot of the teachers helped me with my studies for GCSE. I knew the teachers and they knew me. It made it a more friendly, more comfortable environment. It’s been a good experience. I’ve really enjoyed my time here.”
Andy Crofts, Executive Principal said, “Congratulations to everyone receiving their level 3 results today. They are a culmination of the students’ hard work, determination and commitment to their studies. I would also like to thank their teachers and their parents for supporting and motivating them through the exam period. We hope that they are pleased with the outcomes and we wish them every success on the next stage of their journey after Quest.”
