Over the past six weeks, a group of Year 9 students have been taking part in enrichment on the school allotment. Spending a total of six hours outdoors, the group has worked to transform the space and prepare it for planting in the spring.

Their first task was to clear away rubbish and begin tidying up the planting beds, making sure the area was ready for new life next season. The students also collected natural materials to use around the site and showed their creativity by building a brilliant bug hotel to encourage wildlife to thrive.

One of the highlights of the project came when the group made a surprise discovery – a lone radish left behind by last year’s allotment team!  The students have shown great teamwork in improving the school’s green space.
