Normal Year 7 lessons were suspended today when students from forms 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3 gathered together to watch the launch of the Soyuz rocket carrying Tim Peake, the first British astronaut in their lifetime.

They learnt about astronaut training, forces during lift-off and escape velocity. Whilst watching the launch they discussed all manner of space technology. They also thought about how they might react to being away from family & friends for six months.
