Students and staff from the Quest Academy enjoyed a day out at No. 10, Downing Street, where they met the Prime Minister, the Right Honourable David Cameron MP. The Rugby Football Union (RFU) extended an invitation to the Quest because of the successes achieved since the school joined the RFU’s All Schools Programme, less than two years ago. Since then, Quest rugby teams have beaten established Croydon rugby schools, Trinity and Whitgift in the Surrey Cup.

Participating in rugby has given students the confidence and ambition to be the very best that they can be, which has translated into better motivation, aspiration and achievement in the classroom. During the visit, the Quest students enjoyed Downing Street’s walled gardens and a special buffet reception. The Quest was one of just three lucky schools to greet the Commonwealth Games baton runner as she arrived in Downing Street and chatted briefly to David Cameron about the School and their experiences of rugby.
