On Tuesday 7th October 2014 four female athletes from Year 7 competed in the ‘Croydon Schools Cross Country Championships’ at Coombe Park. The runners were: Aimee Baker-Sanders, Mya Thomas, Grace Hierons, and Sasha Lamont. Each girl had to run one and a half times around the park, (a total distance of approximately 1.5 miles).

In quite tough conditions, the girls performed very well against many of the other schools from around the borough. Each runner showed great fitness, strength, character and courage, and are real credit to their houses and the Academy.

Aimee was our first runner home in a time of 15 minutes, 15 seconds.

The boys competition was due to take place on Thursday 9th October 2014, but due to the heavy rain and lightening, was cancelled. It is due to be rescheduled.

Spaces are available in the Academy’s boys Cross Country Team, so boys who would like to run should see Mr Soalla-Bell ASAP.
