Quest Academy Achieves STARS Accreditation
The Quest Academy has been accredited with the STARS kitemark for its efforts to promote safer, more active travel to and from school. A letter from STARS stated…
“We would like to thank you and your school for all your help and support over the past year in promoting active, safer and responsible travel within your school community by being part of STARS. The work undertaken by your school combined with all the STARS schools in London, has had a huge impact in reducing the number of vehicles making journeys on London’s roads. We now have over 1500 schools engaged with the programme, and encourage you to keep up your fantastic work and contribution to STARS.
Schools who take part in STARS have pupils who are more active; STARS schools show an eight per cent increase in the number of pupils walking on average, and three per cent increase in the number of pupils cycling. Thank you once again for all your continued support in making this programme a success across London.
We are celebrating the 10 year anniversary of STARS this year, so look out for upcoming events. Our autumn seminars in November will have a range of interactive, skill based workshops; we look forward to seeing you there. For further help and guidance on your travel plan activities or advice on how to progress to the next STARS level, please speak to your borough’s school travel advisor or see the STARS website at stars.tfl.gov.uk. The refreshed website now has over 125 free activity cards available to explore.
We wish you all the very best of luck in your STARS programme for the year ahead.
