The Year 8 Quest Academy football team continued their fine start to the league season with another convincing win, this time beating Riddlesdown B 8-0 on a mild winters evening at home.

The goals came from Bislim H (2), Krisztofer K (2), Phillip H (1) Abraham Q (1), Josh T (1) and Tyrese E (1).

This was a superb performance from Year 8 with some fantastic football being played which was noticed by the spectators, the opposition manager and Mr Wilder. What was even more pleasing is that the squad of 16 players consisted of 8 Year 7s who had been promoted to play in this team, after some really impressive performances at their own age group. Six of these Year 7s even started the game!

This result leaves Year 8 with a great chance of winning the B league having recorded a 6-0 and an 8-0 victory in their opening two league games.

GK – Tayo E – Little to do but solid when called upon. 7/10

RB – Phillip H – Energetic and strong in the tackle. Scored a fantastic solo goal in the second half. 9/10

CB – Oscar M – Quality in the centre of defence as usual. Does this boy ever have a bad game? 9/10

CB -Rizgar B – Not his usual position in defence but performed brilliantly. Read the play and cleared the danger. 9/10

LB Jaydon B – Won so many tackles and performed brilliantly on his year 8 debut. 8/10

CDM – Aneillo L – Worked his socks off and protected the defence so well. Covered in defence when needed showing a great footballing brain. Getting better each game. 8/10

RCM – Subby N – Solid performance. Can perform at a higher level but he kept possession well and created chances for the strikers in the 1st half. Solid debut for Subby. 7/10

LCM – Josh T – What a performance. Controlled the game from start to finish with his energy and desire to drive his team forward. Scored a lovely goal by lobbing the keeper from the edge of the box. 10/10

RF – Krisztopher K – This boy is impressing more and more. Started the game on fire gaining 2 assists and a goal for himself inside the first 15 mins. Also showed some really intelligent play throughout the game. 9/10

LF – Abraham Q – Another good performance from AB. Scored a lovely goal with a curled finish from the edge of the box. Worked hard and was a constant threat in the left forward position. 8/10

CF – Bislim H – Magnificent performance from Bis. Scored two wonderful goals and held the ball up brilliantly as the centre forward. This boy has lots of potential and this was also noticed by the opposition manager. 10/10

Subs:

Nathan N – Not his most exciting performance but still came on and looked more than comfortable playing at this level. A lot more to come from the left food wand. 7/10

Hussein M – Came on at LB in the second half and gave a solid performance. 7/10

Tyrese E – A superb cameo from Tyrese. Came on for the last 10 mins and scored with his first touch. Held the ball up exactly as his manager had asked and showed a good touch and a good football brain. 9/10

David Y – Came into the midfield for the last 10 mins and worked very hard to stop attacks. Really impressive attitude shown lately in training earnt him this call up. 7/10

Zak W – Another job done for the team from Mr reliable. Came on at CB which is not his favourite position and didn’t put a foot wrong. 7/10

Abdul A – Was a calm presence in the midfield when he came on and was part of a lovely team goal. Needs to work on his fitness and awareness. 7/10

Bradley O – Came on at RB and done well. Strong in the tackle and calm on the ball. Juts needs to work on his technical skills a bit. 7/10
