Orienteering at Lullingstone Country Park
A small group of Year 9 pupils had the opportunity to try orienteering at Lullingstone Country Park. Although overcast, the weather held out and we had a very pleasant day. We covered roughly 5 miles in total and each group of pupils managed to find their way around with a map, and find all the control points.
I was impressed by the way that the pupils behaved out in public, and by the way that they cooperated with each other to find their way, to look for the markers as a team, and to work out which would be the best route to choose.
As a member of staff this trip was an absolute pleasure, and I know from conversations with the pupils that they really enjoyed their day in the countryside. Mr Houghton spent considerable time trying to find a free and enjoyable activity and I think this one was a winner!
