The Quest Academy is part of the National Collaborative Outreach Project (NCOP), which involves a number of students from Years 9 to Year 13.
Nine Year 11 students visited SOAS University in London on Tuesday 2nd October for a “goal setting event” and action planning to enable the smooth progression to 6th Form and Higher Education.
We arrived at SOAS University and were greeted by the university ambassadors. The day began with a welcome presentation, followed by a SOAS quiz. Ambassadors from Roehampton, St. Mary’s and SOAS talked about their experiences at university, their courses, life on campus and accommodation.
After lunch we all had the privilege to listen to a graduate speak about his experiences whilst he was undertaking his PhD in Thailand, which was fascinating. After that the ambassadors took us on a tour around the university campus, the Brunei Gallery, Senate House and the fantastic library.
Our students from The Quest were very interactive, gave excellent answers in the quiz, and were really good at debating. Everyone wanted to know when the next event is going to be held.
