Year 9s win £1,000 for “Lives Not Knives”
Year 9 pupils have taken part in a competition with First Give (previously YPI), to win £1,000 for their chosen charity.
Heats took place earlier in the academic year and four groups of Year 9 pupils were selected to take part in the final, which took place on Monday 19th January.
Each team presented compelling arguments to support their chosen charity, which included Mencap, Lives Not Knives, The Wave Trust and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Students had chosen, researched, approached and met with representatives from the charities involved.
The evening was well attended by friends and family members of those presenting and we were delighted to welcome representatives from some of the charities.
Thanks to the staff that stayed and supported – it really meant a lot to the students.
As always, we are incredibly proud of our students; they spoke confidently and passionately and are as determined as we are to change lives.
