Students at The Quest Academy in Selsdon have produced a great set of GCSE results. Particular congratulations must go to Quest’s top performers, Lexine Agyare who achieved an astonishing four 9s, four 8s and two 7s and Kanzy Elderini who got five 9s, two 8s, two 7s and a 6.

Lexine now plans to go on to study Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Economics. She said, “I feel relieved, to be honest! I actually thought I was going to do badly in English so I was actually really surprised. I’m grateful for all the help I received at Quest. All the after school revision and extra classes paid off!”

Quest’s students have worked tirelessly throughout the disruptions of the last few years. The excellent grades achieved by the overwhelming majority of students mean that they have control and choice over the next steps they choose to take in their educational journey. For most, this will mean continuing their 7-year journey into Quest6, the academy’s Sixth Form.

Allen Onokurhefe achieved an impressive two 9s, five 8s, and two 7s. When asked about his time at Quest, Allen said, “Thank you to all the teachers who helped me get to where I am today. Put God first and the rest will come.” He is going on to study A Levels in Maths, English Literature and either Chemistry or Economics.

Jade Deguin achieved two 9s, four 8s and two 7s and is now looking forward to studying A Levels in English, Psychology and French or Art at Quest6. She said, “I think I did better than expected although I worked really hard towards the end. I could have done even better if I’d worked hard the whole way through. My advice to younger students would be start revising from the end of Year 10 and make flashcards really early. I was rushing all mine towards the end.”

Head of School, Thomas Beecham said, “Congratulations to all students in the Quest Year 11 Class of 2023! Your dedication and hard work over the last 5 years, despite all that has been thrown at you, has been excellent. You celebrate results which are in line with the best ever achieved by a cohort of students here at the Quest Academy. We very much look forward to welcoming most of you into Quest6, and helping others decide on the next steps you wish to take. Well done!

Executive Principal Andy Crofts said, “Congratulations to all of our students receiving their results today. We look forward to seeing many of them back in Quest6 where their journey continues. To everyone else, our best wishes for the future.”
