Countdown to Activities Week
Excitement is building across the school as we’re now less than two weeks away from the academy’s very first Activities Week!
As part of our Quest 7 Year Journey programme, Quest is committed to ensuring that all students get to enjoy a unique, diverse and meaningful range of additional learning activities that will help them develop a range of skills, experiences and qualifications required for success in adulthood.
It is for this reason that between Monday 15th July and Friday 19th July, the normal student timetable will be suspended, and our first Activities Week will take place.
Students get to choose and design their own bespoke timetable of cross-curricular and super-curricular activities based upon their skills, interests and aptitudes: enhancing the curriculum, building the cultural capital of students and further developing their interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
We’re hoping too that it will be a great opportunity for staff to share their subject passions with students in different ways.
Lots of work and planning has already been under way by staff on some of the really exciting activities planned: from residential trips in Year 8 and 10, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Year 9 and work experience placements in Year 12.
Watch this space for reports of the activities as they come in!
