On Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th July, the year 7s got their first taste of geography fieldwork with a trip to Brighton!
The students enjoyed the train ride down to Brighton. During the first part of the day they conducted fieldwork, with students investigating the positive and negative impacts of local tourism. Some of the fieldwork that was utilised included pedestrian flow counts, traffic surveys, land use surveys, environmental quality surveys, and questionnaires.
The students really engaged in the different techniques and even ventured to ask members of the public to share their opinions! Once this was completed, students had time in the afternoon to go to the arcade, try out a few rides and grab a bite to eat (that is if the seagulls didn’t steal their food!)
