Forty Year 9 students accompanied the Principal, Mr Crofts on a trip to the Centre of Cell, a hi-tech biology exhibition hanging above the laboratories in the Blizard Institute – home to the medicine and dentistry department of Queen Mary University London. They learned about the work of biologists in the lab and saw recreations of current research as well as learning about how science is helping people survive disease and illness.

En route they took a diversion to learn about the history of Wapping, learning about the history of one of London’s oldest docks and visited the Thames foreshore and searched for relics from 17th century ships.
